According to a report from the Glasgow Times, Everton could look to offer a contract to former Celtic midfielder, Tom Rogic.

Rogic is out of contract leaving the Bhoys and is available on a free-transfer. And reports from Scotland have claimed that Everton boss Frank Lampard is considering offering a contract to the Australian international.

Rogic, 29, has enjoyed a glittering career in terms of trophies. He won seven league titles with Celtic, adding to the single title he won in Australia with the Central Coast Mariners. However, he is now looking for a new club and Everton are among the teams who could offer him a lifeline.

The Toffees are thought to be considering Rogic as a back up to Idrissa Gueye. Everton thought they’d signed Gueye a week or so back but as yet, he’s yet to actually come through the Goodison Park doors.

Rogic would offer Frank Lampard another option from midfield and with Dele Alli also moving on, would add someone from deep who can offer a goal threat. Indeed, Rogic scored 42 goals in just shy of 300 games for Celtic, so he’s certainly not averse to finding the back of the net.

TBR’s View: Rogic A Good Freebie For Tottenham

There are some players who are on the free agent market who surprise you and Tom Rogic is one of them.

It’s quite amazing nobody has snapped him up just yet and Everton could do far worse than get Rogic into the club right now. He’d being goals, experience, and given his time with Celtic, a natural winning mentality.

Frank Lampard needs reinforcements after a bit of a poor start to the season. If he signs the ‘sublime‘ Rogic for free, and brings in one or two more, then it wouldn’t be a bad window at all for the ex-Derby boss.
